CLEARANCE IS PART OF THE PRODUCT

Finished audio is not the same thing as licensable music.

UTM separates creative completion from commercial availability. A song can reach Final and still remain outside the buyer-facing Library until the required rights and delivery checks pass.

When every required check is complete, UTM can publish the song automatically. From there, UTM continuously verifies rights and delivery readiness so buyers can search with confidence that published music remains current, cleared and ready to move.

UTM does not deduct 20% from upfront sync licensing fees. Its proposed 20% administration fee applies only to identifiable publisher-side performance royalties generated by audiovisual sync placements actually secured by UTM, where the entitled rights holder separately authorizes the specific work, share and income. Unrelated standalone song streams, mechanical royalties, writer-direct payments and placements by others are excluded. Any broader royalty collection requires the rights holder’s separate written authority; UTM will manually identify eligible sync-use receipts and remit 100% of unrelated income without a UTM fee. Backend royalties are not guaranteed. Membership fees are separate from this proposed publishing-administration fee. A membership gives you platform access—not ownership of collaborators’ music, permission for an outside commercial release, automatic Library acceptance, or guaranteed sync placements.
